Corporate Director Compensation & Benefits at Phoebe Health Systems
May 2018 - January 2020 | Albany, GA• Set up Shared Service Center Model. Improved all processes, reduced errors, created generic email boxes. Required documented processes that were to be continually updated. • Evaluated HRIS and Talent Management file feed connection. Contracted for process improvements increasing accuracy and reducing manual touch by over 50%. • Launched EdAssist, a tuition assistance application, eliminating one full time position. • Recognized a need to make substantial changes to Benefit vendors based on cost and noncompliance issues. Went to market with a request for proposal from major benefit consulting groups. Created an estimated savings annually of approximately one million dollars, with increased support and creative marketing via videos and interactive materials. • Attended many department huddles to educate employees on how to use high deductible plans (HDHP) and their benefits. Original HDHP launch done without the appropriate education. Supplemental plans instead of Health Savings Accounts were promoted by the benefit enroller, providing large commissions off the backs of the employees. Ended this commission practice. • Launched PayFactors, replacing the spread sheet compensation method that was 100% manual and fraught with error. Purchased PayFactors job description module to replace current system. The competencies in the job descriptions have been added by all managers, resulting in performance evaluations that are cumbersome and time consuming. • Audited and overhauled paygrades that had not been evaluated in years. • Represented Human Resources (HR) in the Command Center during hurricane Michael for five days. • Corrected noncompliance for NetLearning, establishing a process and policy of deactivating badges of noncompliant employees. • Moved badge photographs for new employees to HR, reducing new employee frustration, and creating a one stop option. Mandated all managers attend new hire orientation luncheon in support of the direct report. • Established audits for leave of absence, I-9’s, all certifications and licenses, and benefits in arrears. • Instituted cross-training of all Compensation & Benefits positions, allowing Team members to create flexible schedules.
